An aspiring culinary student from Alberton, Amber brings enthusiasm to everything she does. Cakes and bread are her favourite bakes, and she handles pressure with flair, even if others label her as the “stressed one.”

Chikomborero “Chiko” Chiobvu

Hailing from Pretoria, Chiko, a multi-talented investment and research analyst, loves spreading the joy of baking with her cakes and bread. She thrives under pressure, even if she tends to leave things to the last minute.

Dwight Morton

Coming from Johannesburg, Dwight, an aircraft quality control manager, excels in baking puff pastry, wedding cakes, and novelty cakes. He is perceived as a technical Bake Off contestant and finds baking bread challenging.

Faizel Meyer

Johan Van Gass


A professional accountant from Pretoria, Johan Van Gass is an avid house renovator. Among the oldest contestants, he is perceived as the serious one in the team, with his biggest challenge being cooking puff pastries.

Mariza Mundow

Hailing from Cape Town, Mariza Mundow is a homemaker who also sells chilli sauce and oil paints. Anxious with high expectations, she enjoys fishing, travelling, and scuba diving.

Matshele “Matty” Molaoli

An instructional designer, podcaster, voiceover artist, and business owner, Matshele “Matty” Molaoli is confident in the kitchen but struggles with time pressure. Besides baking, she gracefully glides on roller skates, swims, and creates TikToks.

Molebatsi Moagi

From Randfontein, Molebatsi Moagi is a database and systems administrator. Known as “The Experimental Baker,” he loves trying new flavours and techniques. He enjoys playing the piano, listening to music, and writing when not baking.

Mia Steenekamp, a professional design director from Johannesburg, shares similarities with Mariza Mundow as an anxious baker with high expectations. However, she faces challenges in the time speed challenge.

These contestants and the other eight will make this season of The Great South African Bake Off a thrilling experience filled with fun and knowledge from the judges and hosts.


The hosts of the show are Lesego “Coconut Kelz” Tlhabi and actor Glen Biderman-Pam, while chefs Paul Hartmann and Siba Mtongana will serve as judges.
