Chikomborero “Chiko” Chiobvu
Hailing from Pretoria, Chiko, a multi-talented investment and research analyst, loves spreading the joy of baking with her cakes and bread. She thrives under pressure, even if she tends to leave things to the last minute.
Coming from Johannesburg, Dwight, an aircraft quality control manager, excels in baking puff pastry, wedding cakes, and novelty cakes. He is perceived as a technical Bake Off contestant and finds baking bread challenging.
An industrial engineer from Durban, Faizel enjoys baking cakes, cookies, biscuits/tarts, and puffs. He describes himself as a sassy jokester who cares deeply for others.
Johan Van Gass
A professional accountant from Pretoria, Johan Van Gass is an avid house renovator. Among the oldest contestants, he is perceived as the serious one in the team, with his biggest challenge being cooking puff pastries.
Hailing from Cape Town, Mariza Mundow is a homemaker who also sells chilli sauce and oil paints. Anxious with high expectations, she enjoys fishing, travelling, and scuba diving.
Matshele “Matty” Molaoli
An instructional designer, podcaster, voiceover artist, and business owner, Matshele “Matty” Molaoli is confident in the kitchen but struggles with time pressure. Besides baking, she gracefully glides on roller skates, swims, and creates TikToks.
From Randfontein, Molebatsi Moagi is a database and systems administrator. Known as “The Experimental Baker,” he loves trying new flavours and techniques. He enjoys playing the piano, listening to music, and writing when not baking.
Nomahlubi “Hlubi” Gcilishe
Freelancing as an admin assistant, Nomahlubi “Hlubi” Gcilishe from Johannesburg is nicknamed the “Monologue Baker” or the “Last Minute Baker.” She finds joy in reading, watching, and playing tennis and cricket.
A lawyer, personal trainer, and baker from Midrand, Rizwana Adam excels in baking bread, biscuits, and cakes. Described as the “Helpful Dark-Humoured Baker,” she also enjoys writing poetry, children’s books, gardening, and solving crossword puzzles.
Xolile Makutoana, a work readiness facilitator and trainer from Cape Town, founded Explorer Cake SA. Proficient in drawing and hiking, he embraces the role of an improviser.
Mia Steenekamp, a professional design director from Johannesburg, shares similarities with Mariza Mundow as an anxious baker with high expectations. However, she faces challenges in the time speed challenge.
