Three Individuals Face Court Charges for Possessing Unlicensed Firearm

In Benoni CBD on March 20, three men found themselves in police custody for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. According to Benoni SAPS spokesperson Captain Nomsa Sekele, Detective Warrant Officer Matsane received information about three men suspected of involvement in the taxi industry’s recent violence. The men were discovered under the watchful eye of security personnel on the corner of Voortrekker Road and Kemston Avenue.

Despite their denial of any firearm knowledge or involvement in the taxi violence, officers uncovered a revolver with six live rounds beneath the back seat of their vehicle. They confiscated the suspects’ vehicle, cell phones, and firearms for further investigation, and they await their court appearance soon.
