India to exceed China’s population soon

Published

on

India’s population is set to overtake China’s, as the latter’s numbers shrank for the first time since 1960. The rise in China’s cost of living, more women entering the workforce, and declining birth rates have contributed to this decline as reported by Jacarandafm.

Meanwhile, India’s census has been delayed due to logistical hurdles and political reluctance, and critics accuse the government of concealing data on contentious issues.

India is also facing the challenge of providing food, housing, and electricity to its growing population, with many cities already struggling to cope.

The global population is predicted to hit 8.045 billion by mid-2023, with demographic slumps expected in some European and Asian countries, while Africa’s population is expected to rise.
