Eskom has implemented stage 2 load shedding starting Friday. This decision came following a previous announcement by Eskom, which had initially indicated a reduction in planned power cuts from stages 5 to 3 and 4.

As per Jacaranda FM, the downgrade to stage 2 load shedding is effective from 10 am today. Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena attributed this adjustment to the return of additional generating units, sufficient emergency reserves, and an anticipated decrease in electricity demand.

She highlighted that Eskom will closely monitor the power system and promptly communicate any significant changes as they arise.
