EFF say despite the excitement the snow brings it impacts the poor

The EFF say despite the excitement the snow brings it impacts the poor. While Gauteng rarely experiences snow, the recent phenomenon has captivated residents who eagerly captured the moment. The last time there was snow in Johannesburg was in August 2012.

According to IOL, the South African Weather Service predicts inclement weather to persist throughout the week. EFF spokesperson Sinawo Thambo highlighted the devastating effects of snow and cold temperatures on vulnerable individuals, such as the homeless and shack dwellers, emphasising the potential lethality of these conditions. Thambo called on the government to prioritise the safety of the destitute, citing the EFF’s ongoing commitment to supporting those in need.

The weather conditions have extended to the southern parts and certain areas of Sandton.
